About

Chef Felipe Gaytan was born in Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas (Northeast Mexico). With more than 20 years in the industry, Chef Felipe was a second generation restaurateur apprentice under his mother's guidance. In his early years working at her restaurant, Chef Felipe discover a love and passion for food. It was at that time that Chef Felipe began to consider the hospitality business as a long-term career.

At the age of 19, Chef Felipe became a breakfast cook at the Sheraton Hotel in South Padre Island, Texas. Since that time, he has stepped into many other great kitchens. One example of is the Hilton Palacio Del Rio in San Antonio, Texas where he worked with Chef Phillip Rice.

Maintaining his vision of making his dream come true, he moved to Dallas and joined the Kitchen of Famous Chef, Dean Fearing, at the Mansion on Turtle Creek where he refined his talent as Saucier Sous Chef.

During a consultation at Via Real Restaurant in Dallas, Texas, Chef Felipe took the leadership of that kitchen for 11 years. Continuing with his dream, in 2009 he received one of the most prestigious awards in Latino Cuisine in the United States of America.

Chef Felipe Gaytan then founded the Flavors of Passion Awards. These awards were executed by SG. Productions. In attendance were more than 800 guests ranging from business professionals to politicians, leaders in the sports industry, and other reknowned Chefs from across the United States.
